Provider Consultant for Electronic Health Records

Location Hours: Varies

Employment Type: Full-time; 40hrs/week (20hr/wk IT; 20hrs/wk Clinical)

Position Summary:

Provides clinical guidance from a provider perspective on the use of the Electronic Health Record (EHR.) Considers the needs of HealthPoint, providers and clinical staff to serve as a provider champion for the electronic health records in a global perspective. Incorporates national standards, trends in medicine and health record technology into recommendations for workflows and use of the EHR.

Your contribution to the team includes:
•Works within the IS team to help develop EHR workflows, promoting current standards of care and ensuring HealthPoint’s workflows are in alignment.
•Participates in troubleshooting, testing, and learning functions within the application that are only available to providers and teach this functionality to IS staff.
•Participates in testing new functionality available with upgrades, hot fixes, new modules, etc. and provide clinical guidance concerning their use.
•Provides clinical guidance on issues that are reported by users.
•Assists with testing and recreating issues, defining the steps that create them when they are inconsistent.
•Assists with “Day 3” provider training and/or shadow/work with new providers or those having difficulty using the system.
•Promotes and champions HealthPoint work flows with providers in the use of the EHR and reaches out to providers who have issues or questions.
•Maintains clinical skills through direct patient care within HealthPoint.

Must have’s you’ll need to be successful:
•Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensed with the state of Washington. Board certified or board eligible in family practice.
•Demonstrated efficiency with organizational skills, including time and task management, prioritization and attention to detail required.
•Intermediate level ability with Word, Outlook, Excel and other required software programs.
•Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
•Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

If you have the following it’s a plus:
•Three (3) years of related experience in a family practice clinic setting.
•Minimum of two years’ experience with NextGen EMR and a current HealthPoint provider for over one year.
