The Oregon Health Authority, Public Health Division, Maternal and Child Health Section has a unique part-time opportunity for a Public Health Nurse Family Partnership Consultant. This position assists the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) State Nurse Consultant with the duties required to promote the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Section, providing overall expertise, direction and coordination of the program.

What will you do?
You will provide technical assistance and coordination for the planning, development and implementation of NFP with Local Health Authorities (LHA). You will provide quality assurance technical assistance for the local programs; coordinate teams of appropriate staff and stakeholders to develop policies and priorities for a comprehensive strategically integrated NFP program; and serve as the technical expert for the program in state level home visiting work.

A Master’s degree in either Nursing or Public Health and four years of recent (within the last ten years) nursing experience, which includes two years of nurse supervising, administrative, or teaching experience.
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and five years of recent (within the last ten years) nursing experience, which includes two years of nurse supervising, administrative or teaching experience.

• A Master’s degree in either Public Health or Nursing and four years (within the last ten years) nursing experience preferred.
• Preference will be given for teaching experience, administrative experience with development/knowledge of data information systems and experience in public health service delivery, preferably in maternal and child health.
• Experience in promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
• Prior experience with the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) model a plus.
• Experience in policy development and program implementation on the county or state level is desired.
• Currently licensed in Oregon as a Registered Nurse as applicable.
• Experience in consensus-building, collaboration-building, and strategic planning.
• Experience working on a team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and facilitation skills.
• Experience in local systems development along the prenatal to 5 age continuum a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively, perform a variety of clerical functions, be able to operate office software such as Word and Excel and office equipment such as computers (including laptops and peripherals) and have strong organizational skills.
