Job Description

Under the direction of the Leader of Rehabilitation Services, the WOCN serves as a clinical resource and consultant to the nursing staff in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care to patients with ostomies, wounds, fistulas, incontinence or actual or potential for skin breakdown, as appropriate to those patients served. Service may include hands-on care as well as education and counseling to the patient and his or her caregivers. Utilizing expert knowledge and advanced assessment, the WOC Nurse is accountable for working towards quality patient outcomes and appropriate resource consumption for patients. The WOC Nurse is self-directed and acts as an effective leader and sets standards of care for patients who need WOC Nursing.

Minimum Qualifications:
• BSN required.
• Current State of Georgia Registered Nurse license
• Board certified by the Wound Ostomy Continence Certification Board
• One year of clinical WOCN experience
• 2-3 years experience in Nursing
